Abstract

Early childhood education plays an important role in shaping a child's personality and preparing them for the next step of education. This phase, often called the golden age phase, is the ideal time for children to gain an early understanding of concepts such as numbers and letters. One effective approach in introducing numbers is through practical examples such as using a wall clock at home. The learning process consists of a series of structured components that are interconnected: curriculum, learners, learning methods, teaching materials, learning tools and evaluation. Learning media has an important role in improving the quality of learning, especially with technological advances that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching. The use of Time Card learning media is expected to reduce methods that are only verbal, increasing students' understanding of the concept of time itself. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of using Time Cards in improving young children's understanding of the concept of time. The ultimate goal is to provide insight into how learning media can effectively improve the concept of time and strengthen educational practices at the kindergarten level. This study used Classroom Action Research (PTK) at Bimbel Triwala, Kuningan Regency, West Java. The findings of this study show that the use of Time Card media effectively improved students' understanding of the concept of time from a low level in the pre-cycle to reach the level of completeness in cycle II. Cycle II recorded an average student understanding of the concept of time of 9.67, showing a significant increase from the initial condition.
